Eric L. Mayer on the recently-concluded Zimmerman trial:
[The jury knows] the evidence better and viewed it in more detail than CNN, MSNBC, the BBC, PBS, ESPN, Nancy Grace, and anyone else who is employed by a news/broadcast agency.
What happened between Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman is a shame. Two people got into an altercation and, since one of them died, we’ll never know exactly what happened. That sucks. It really sucks: it’s possible that Zimmerman has gotten away with murder. But the prosecution wasn’t able to prove that beyond a reasonable doubt, and so Zimmerman is “not guilty”. That’s how our legal system works. “The guy seemed guilty in the TV news report I watched” is not enough to convict someone of a crime, and that is as it should be.
